On 21 May 2025, Sasol’s Accessible Qatar initiative proudly participated in the first-ever Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) Film Festival, hosted by the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). The event brought together students, educators, accessibility advocates, and organizations to spotlight the importance of inclusion, access, and representation through the powerful medium of film.
The festival showcased a curated selection of short films, documentaries, and narratives that shed light on the lived experiences of persons with disabilities, fostering empathy, understanding, and much-needed conversations around inclusive design and accessibility in all aspects of life.
As part of Sasol’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and community engagement, Accessible Qatar took part in the event’s exhibitions and networking spaces. The initiative hosted a dedicated booth featuring awareness materials, accessibility-themed giveaways, and an opportunity for students and visitors to engage with our mission and platforms.
Accessible Qatar also had the opportunity to connect with students and stakeholders to discuss the evolving accessibility landscape in Qatar and ways to get involved in ongoing efforts. This event served as a valuable platform to amplify the impact of the initiative and build stronger networks with institutions like UDST who are advancing accessibility across education and innovation.
